Ballroom Time's December 8, 2024 "Winter Ball"Our First Winter Ball, will take place in the historic Spanish Ballroom on Sunday evening December 8, 2024. The Winter Ball offers elegant dancing to live music from a large orchestra on the largest dance floor in the region. All at an economical price. Please dress to look and dance your best. This is a seasonal event - consider wearing a nice sweater... or an ugly one. Your choice! We're pleased to announce that music will be provided by the 15-musician Hotel Paradise Orchestra featuring vocals by Janet Paulsen. This marks an encore for the Orchestra following their Spanish Ballroom debut at our Fall Ball on October 5. The Orchestra received many accolades from our dancers that evening and we're delighted they've agreed to return. Hotel Paradise will be playing a selection of beautiful ballroom music including seasonal favorites covering a range of dance styles: waltz, foxtrot, tango, quickstep, swing, rumba, cha-cha, mambo and more. . We're planning our traditional mixer and a samba line dance during the evening. Doors open at 6:15 pm. Warm-up music begins to play at 6:30. A beginner lesson in foxtrot, the dance of the month, starts at 6:45. Live music then plays from 7:30 until 10:30 pm. Admission is $40 at the door (cash, check, CC, Zelle). Students and Active-duty Military pay $20. Bottled water and light desserts will be made available in the lobby during the first intermission. Paul Tannous will lead the samba line dances that play during the evening. Min Zhang will coordinate our dedicated staff of unsung event volunteers. Many singles come to Ballroom Time dances. All ages and levels of dance are welcome. Children under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult. We encourage dancers to join our email list to receive the latest news including advance notice of the playlist and special offers, and to request a complimentary customized name tag. Just send a message to info@ballroomtime.org. Please support ballroom dancing in the Park by attending this memorable seasonal event! |
