Our April 14, 2024 Ballroom Dance
Our April ballroom dance will take place in the historic Spanish Ballroom on Sunday April 14, 2024. Music will be provided by The Janet Paulsen Trio. This will be a return visit to the Spanish Ballroom for Janet who impressed us with her sparkling vocals at our holiday dance last December. The Trio will be playing a selection of ballroom music including Slow Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Swing and more.A large part of the fun is having the opportunity to practice a variety of dances to live music. So please join us. A beginner lesson in ballroom basics starts at 2:45 pm. Live music then begins at 3:30 and goes to 6:00 pm. In recognition of the upcoming Strauss Waltz Gala on April 27 , organized by our friends at Waltz Time, the beginner lesson will include some Viennese Waltz basics. And we're pleased to announce that during the afternoon amateur stars Tina and Clement will perform a Waltz showcase including American Style Viennese Waltz and International Style Waltz. The couple will then lead us in a snowball mixer. The afternoon will also include a samba line dance or two and a second mixer, Paul Jones style.
